Comes to Europe for First Time

No one can properly understand anything related to enterprise-level Cloud Computing without having first gained a deep understanding of the capabilities of different Cloud players. Cloud Expo's pioneering Cloud Computing Bootcamp is designed with that in mind. It is a one-day, fully immersive deep-dive into the Cloud, in which the sessions during the day seek to give delegates a deep understanding of the capabilities of different Cloud players and how they address rapidly changing market demands.
The ever-popular Bootcamp, which is now held regularly around the world, is being held this time round June 21, 2010, in conjunction the 6th Cloud Expo in Prague, Czech Republic. It is led by our 2010 Bootcamp Instructor Larry Carvalho.
BOOTCAMP SUMMARY: A compelling one-day, deep dive into just what it takes to take full advantage of the Cloud. Get a deep understanding of the capabilities of different Cloud players and how they address rapidly changing market demands.
Day 1 - Monday, June 21st
9:15 – 10:50 am - What is cloud computing? Synopsis on the state of the technology and latest news on what is happening in the industry
12:40 - 1:25 pm - Mapping the Cloud ecosystem: Who are the players? Covering start-ups, existing enterprise vendors, service and hosting providers mapped to solutions provided.
2:20 - 3:05 pm - Identifying your position in the ecosystem: How you address the market challenges depends on whether you are a customer (large or mid-market), systems integrator/service provider or independent software vendor? Get a deep understanding to the capabilities of different players and how they address rapidly changing market demands.
4:35 - 7:00 pm – At Cloud Camp - Cloud Computing Roadmaps: Now you got a background of cloud computing, where do you go? Understand your options while determining your road map to taking advantage of this very nascent technology. This section will be the opening session at the Cloud Camp. The Cloud Camp is designed to address the top questions/concerns of the audience.
Day 2 - Tuesday, June 22nd
11:40 - 12:25 pm - Open standards and open source in the cloud: Do you take the toll or the toll-free road? Does it make a difference if solutions are measured by Service Level Agreements between consumers and providers of cloud solutions? The role of open standards is important preventing vendor lock-in while picking a solution.
2:10 - 2:55 pm - Economic and budgeting dynamics brought about by cloud computing: Information technology use in the new era will require change in how initiatives are funded and charged back to business units. Cloud delivery of services will require IT financing to review executive considerations while measuring subscription, usage or ad supported business models. Service providers need to consider to sales commissions, renewals and billing models.

It means to combine the acquisition’s NxTop widgetry with its XenClient hypervisor to create a new Citrix XenClient Enterprise edition that can manage “large fleets” of corporate laptops across a distributed enterprise and give users a virtual desktop “to go.”
It’s due this quarter as a standalone product at a reported $175 a user.
Citrix said it’s getting the management piece faster by buying it.
Virtual Computer has historically focused on solutions for Xen-based client hypervisors. Its technology includes backup, disaster recovery, provisioning, security and monitoring capabilities. IT departments are supposed to use it to deliver virtualized desktops with the graphics and GPU performance of office PCs or workstations to employees using any connected and BYOD devices regardless of operating system including thin clients, laptops, tablets and smartphones.
The dingus, an enterprise implementation of the company’s new Kepler GPU, is also supposed to work with 3D design and simulation tools previously deemed too intensive for virtualized desktops.

The study, drawn from interviews with 108 federal CIOs and IT managers, was published by MeriTalk Cloud Computing Exchange, a community of federal government leaders focused on public-private collaboration in Washington, D.C.
The IT managers surveyed also reported spending 11 percent of their current, fiscal year 2013 budgets, or $8.7 billion, on cloud computing.
